The Internet, as it has been governed, must be seen as an unprecedented success story. It creates opportunity for economic growth, socio-economic opportunities, intellectual freedoms and much, much more.The global nature of the Internet challenges the concept of governance exclusively by governments or groups of governments. When looking at Internet governance, it is important to preserve, promote and, above all, participate in the multisectoral model.
ICANN is the global leader in the management of critical Internet addressing resources, and relevant topics such as preventing domain name system abuse and digital presence innovations increasingly require global participation by all stakeholders.
A seminar promoted by ICANN at Rio Info, Rio de Janeiro, will address these issues in two sessions: business and academic. The first will discuss ways to advance the engagement of the private sector in Brazil and in the second you will learn how to make your voice heard on issues such as human rights, freedom of expression, privacy and various other discussions which are essential to the understanding of how the Internet functions today.

Estudos de mercado, tendências da tecnologia e participação em políticas são temas de debates na Rio Info em 25 de setembro
A Internet, como tem sido governada, deve ser vista como uma história de sucesso sem precedentes. Cria oportunidade de crescimento econômico, oportunidades socioeconômicas, liberdades intelectuais e muito, muito mais. A natureza global da Internet desafia o conceito de governança exclusivamente por governos ou grupos de governos. Ao olhar para a governança da Internet, é importante preservar, promover e sobretudo participar do do modelo multisetorial.
A ICANN é a responsável global pela gestão dos recursos críticos de endereçamento da Internet e temas relevantes como prevenção de abusos do sistema de nomes de domínio e inovações em presença digital requerem, cada vez mais, participação global de todos setores interessados.
Um seminário promovido pela ICANN na Rio Info, Rio de Janeiro, tratará destes temas em duas sessões: empresarial e acadêmica. Na primeira serão discutidas formas avançar o engajamento do setor privado no Brasil e na segunda saiba como fazer ouvir a sua voz em temas como direitos humanos, liberdade de expressão, privacidade e várias outras discussões essenciais para entender a internet hoje.
